Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Millie app and website (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

The Service

Millie is a personal and family budgeting tool that helps you plan your income, track spending, manage debt, and save toward goals. You enter your own financial information; Millie organizes and displays it for you.

Not financial advice

Millie is provided for personal budgeting and informational purposes only. It is not financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice. Any projections, payoff estimates, or summaries are based on the information you enter and are illustrative only. You are responsible for your own financial decisions and should consult a qualified professional where appropriate.

Your account

• You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and any profile PINs.
• You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
• You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use the Service.
• Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
• Attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours.
• Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or misuse the Service except as permitted by law.

Your content

The financial information, images, and other content you enter remain yours. You grant us a limited license to store and process that content solely to provide the Service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by Millie and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to our trademarks or to copy or redistribute the Service.

Third-party services

Millie relies on third-party providers (such as hosting, authentication, and crash reporting) to operate. Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers performing their services. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of third parties beyond our reasonable control.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any calculations will meet your specific needs.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Millie and its providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or savings, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that could harm others or the Service. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; provisions that by their nature should survive (such as disclaimers and limitations of liability) will continue to apply.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located there for any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service, except where prohibited by applicable law.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
